Visiting Family

On Saturday, May 21st, we went to Charlotte to visit Gabe and Eden's biological family. We have an open adoption so we talk on the phone whenever we want to. It's been a year since we've seen Rachel, Gabe and Eden's birthmom, and we were excited to see her again. This time, she was bringing Junior (1 1/2) and Tye (2 1/2) along to meet us. Tye and Junior are Gabe and Eden's only full siblings (they have 12 half siblings) and we were excited to be at this point in our adoption relationship.

We played at Discovery Place in Charlotte and had a great time!

Rachel with all four kids.

Eden with her big sister, Tye.

Gabe and big brother, Junior.

Two years ago, I would have never imagined this happening. I had major reservations about an open adoption. This whole situation has been amazing. It's not awkward or uncomfortable and it is so nice to see Rachel. We are already making plans to see them again!

Family Pictures

Our mission trip is fast approaching! We need a family photo for our support letters so we went out to Old Salem to take pictures.
This is it! This picture will be displayed on our support letters!
Although this picture is an "out-take" it's one of my favorites. Our life with twins can get pretty hectic sometimes but I've learned that you just have to keep smiling through it all.

Ecuador Bound

We just received the long anticipated news that World Venture has accepted our application for a short term mission trip to Guyaquill, Ecuador this summer.

Daryl and I will be traveling for 2 weeks in August to visit the Folden family for a vision trip. We have been emailing with the Foldens for quite some time and now we get to meet them and learn more about their ministry.

This is a big step in our journey to the mission field as it will potentially help us figure out where and what God wants for our future.

The next couple months will be full of prayers and fund-raising. Please join us in praising God for this opportunity as well as asking for His guidance in our lives. To God be the glory!
